How long does seo take?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a long-term commitment. However, the general rule is that less competitive niches rank faster for less competitive keywords that drive less traffic.

Depending on the keywords chosen for a low-competition niche, results can take 1-2 months or longer.

High-competition niches with high-competition keywords will take longer to rank but will drive more traffic.

High-competition keywords can take up to 6- 12 months to rank in Google search results.

Webstacks specifically focus on quality keyword targets.

Our process involves conducting a competitive SEO analysis to find keywords that we can rank quickly in SERPs (search engine result pages) but still produce MQL search traffic.

How do you measure success with SEO?

We measure SEO success from several metrics, but the overarching success metrics are MoM and YoY increase in organic traffic and consistent converted users from your organic traffic channel.

We also focus on the following metrics:

Increase in keyword positioning - We benchmark keyword rankings before we kick off an SEO project.

Post optimization, we revisit the benchmarked ranking positions to show the rise in rankings from where we started.
SERP visibility - When we kick off optimization, we look for new featured snippets within SERPS that are produced from implementing schema markup.

Click-Through Rate - Once keywords increase in the SERPS, CTR will also increase.

We benchmark your CTR within Google Search Console before kicking off the SEO project to gauge the increase in CTR, both aggregate and individual web pages.

Engagement rate - An increase in organic traffic should also produce an increase in engagement.

We benchmark your engagement rate before kicking off the SEO project.

We then compare pre-optimization engagement rates vs. post-optimization engagement rates.

Core web vitals - We benchmark your core web vitals score pre-optimization to see an increase in your score post -optimization.

How do you keep up with Google algorithm updates?

Hummingbirds, pandas, and penguins, oh my. Staying abreast of Google algorithm updates is second nature to us.

To make sure we are keeping a continual pulse on the newest updates, we utilize the following tactics:

Monitor rankings - We spot anomalies from our internal traffic and validate Google algorithm updates by confirming suspensions across our diverse client base and industry expert analysis.

Google alerts - We set up serval alerts to provide us with articles on trending topics within the SEO industry. For example, one of the alerts we set up is " 2023 Google algorithm updates."

SOI articles - Sphere of influence articles from other experts in the SEO industry are passed around within our internal Webstacks slack channel daily.

Content creation - We look at referral data within our analytics to see who linked back to us from relevant SEO-related topics to scan the site for insights and any additional context they may have on trending topics.

Social media - We aggregate data from trending hashtags to stay abreast of real-time conversations around trending topics.

We also follow other experts within the SEO industry on social media platforms.

How do you use data to inform your SEO strategy ?

We use several data points to inform our SEO strategies for our diverse client base.

First and foremost, once granted access to Google Analytics, we ensure Google Search Console is linked to Google Analytics since Google Search Console provides valuable SEO-related data.

Striking distance data analysis - We analyze keyword impressions and CTR against the average ranking position and the search volume the keyword currently drives to identify opportunities.

Conversion data analysis - We aim to convert traffic rather than drive an increase in traffic that does not convert.

We utilize conversion goal data to identify webpages and the corresponding keywords that drove the converted traffic to expand on relevant keywords to target.

Geographic data analysis - We identify local keywords that have produced conversions.

We segment by cities and focus on specific pages and the keywords associated with the pages that have produced conversions. We then further expand upon local keyword targets.

Search term data analysis - We harvest search term data from internal search queries. We focus on keywords users actively seek and further expand upon keyword targets.
