We’re thrilled to finally feature you on Between the Brackets - Tell us about yourself!

I am for Lake Elsinore CA, it is where I grew up and went to school my whole life. I went to Platt College San Diego and received my Associates Degree in Graphic Design and my Bachelor Degree in Web Design & Development. My main hobby is powerlifting, which is what I do after work for two hours. I train for the whole year to compete at powerlifting meets. One more exciting thing is I am a new dog mom to a blonde long haired dachshund named Knuckles.

What is your role here at Webstacks?

I am an L2 Web Designer at Webstacks! My main focus is creating a visually pleasing design to bring success to my clients company and products. The design team is just so amazing, one of my fellow designers, Mo, is someone I work tightly with. We both work on one client together and push out designs like a candy machine, fast, sweet & amazing! Another person I work tightly with is Jill, my Project Manager for the same client I have with Mo. It is amazing working with both of them because when the people around you love what they do, they want the people around them to feel the same.

What do you enjoy the most about your role at Webstacks?

My favorite part about my role at Webstacks is the design team I am a part of and the relationships I get to build with my clients. It is a designer's dream to have a parallel vision with your client and I get to have that feeling so much it feels like a dream. And the unmatched part of my role is getting to do it with the rest of the designers apart of Webstacks. The design team is an amazing support system for anyone who needs help, feedback and more; Led by amazing people setting amazing examples for other designers to improve and thrive in their role.

Designing at Webstacks

Give us an inside look on your day-to-day!

My typical day is a lot of client facing. With all my clients we have meetings to either discuss what we are working on at the moment, ask questions, and/or plan for future tasks and more. And the rest is designing and collaborating with other designers on the team.

What do you think is one of the most underrated skills to have as a designer?

From an outside perspective, I think one of the most underrated skills to have as a designer is communication. There is a whole lot of communication involved in designing that I think some of our clients are so surprised how much goes into just one web page. Designers are responsible for not only the look of a page but also making sure everything wanted on the page is accounted for and can be built by the development team.

What is your favorite Webstacks memory so far?

My favorite memory so far has been hearing a client tell me to “Chlo-ify” something. It was a client that had to learn to give some control and trust over to the Webstacks team, so that comment gave me confirmation that the trust has been given.

If you could instantly master any skill, what skill would you choose and why?

If I could instantly master any skill it would be to have instant solutions for designs. I see this quality in my managers and always admire their ability to look at a design and pick out small things to improve it that make a design 10x better.
