Say hello to Top Chef and Project Manager Jake Stotter! đź‘‹
Welcome to another edition of Between the Brackets: a series we launched to introduce you to the beautiful people that make Webstacks the best agency to work at! 🚀
Today we're featuring Top Chef and Project Manager Jake Stotter. Jake joined the crew six months ago and is quickly emerging as one of our top Project Managers and one of the favorites at Webstacks. Let's meet the top chef!
I’m flattered! I’m originally from Chicago (suburb called Deerfield). For college, I attended Miami University’s Farmer School of Business in Oxford, Ohio. During my collegiate days, I studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain, and interned in Shanghai, China for a digital sports marketing company.
I'm obsessed with cooking (particularly smoking BBQ + Sous Vide steaks), a big sports guy, and I love to travel! I am excited to move to the west coast and call San Diego my home starting in January!
I previously worked at Publicis Sapient for 3 years as a Product Manager where I worked for clients in the food and beverage, travel & hospitality, sports and entertainment, and biotech and pharmaceuticals industries.
During my time at Publicis Sapient, I learned so much about the technology space at large, but most importantly, how to help clients put consumers first, stay agile, and breakthrough barriers. How did I go from a 20,000+ person consultancy to a startup in San Diego? It's all because of Project Manager Sam Ruben!
Sam started as a Project Manager at Webstacks before me. If Sam hadn't reached out to me six months ago, I wouldn't have found my dream company. Thank you, Sam!
Anywhere from the Future Bass genre like Illenium to Country with Luke Combs.
Either Kelvin Medina’s record for eating a 12 Inch Pizza in 23 Seconds or Joey Chestnut eating 74 Hotdogs in 10 Minutes - what athletes!
Be Agile. The ability to have self-awareness in unanticipated circumstances and respond effectively is in my opinion what separates a good project manager from a great one. Project Managers need to be proactive and not reactive.
My favorite clients to work on thus far have been Calendly, CINC, Clickatell, and iTrustCapital.
The clients I get to work with daily are what make my job special. I treat my clients as if they are my family, and that feels reciprocated by my teams at Webstacks!
I am very fortunate to be a certified SAFe 5 Product Owner/Manager, which has given me the grounded principles in SCRUM agile methodologies.
It has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to mitigate my internal team's exposure to impediments to their work and has given me the strategic lens to ensure my clients are getting the best bang for their buck.
At Webstacks, we recognize you are human. The Webstacks team meets deadlines, ensures your team and your clients are equipped to succeed, and they prepare you for anything.
You can work from the beach or take your dog for a walk during work hours. All we ask is that you produce, develop, and succeed! Webstacks drop the egos, offer autonomy over your work, and the opportunity to work with some of the fastest-growing tech companies in the world.
I have made the trip out to San Diego a few times since starting. It was enough to convince me to make an official move out west in January!
However, working remotely has been awesome! It feels like I've been in the office every day, even though it is virtual. I always have my camera on video calls because it is much easier to connect with my clients and internal team.
This could not be more cliche, but my first day at Webstacks is my favorite memory. While the team outing for the Padres Game and our holiday party were electric, it was overwhelmingly clear on my first day that I knew I was in the right situation here at Webstacks.
The hospitality and open-arms the webstacks team provided when I onboarded were above and beyond my expectations!Â
Our People Operations Manager knows her crowd. I will confidently say Greece! From the Greek Islands to the Parthenon, and everything in between, Greece is one of the most amazing countries I have ever visited.
The best I tried in Greece was a Gyro. The fresh Pita and Gyros meat itself is above and beyond compared to what I've tried in the states.
What is the best grub in the area you live in?
